The Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NRA) is an independent regulatory body established by the NRA Act, 2015 (Act 895) and began operations in January 2016. The NRA has a statutory responsibility for regulating civilian use of nuclear and other radioactive materials in medicine, industry, agriculture, education and research in Ghana. This is to ensure the protection of people and the environment from the harmful effects of radiation.

Job Description

Job Title: Regulatory Officer – Environmental Safety.   

He/She will assist with data/ information analysis to ensure public/environmental health and safety. A key area of focus is environmental radiation safety which cuts across nuclear, radiological, industrial thematic areas, as well as environmental impact assessments.  The candidate will support in the establishment and enforcement of policies and regulations related to the control of environmental radiation hazards, and inspect licensee facilities and equipment to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualification

Minimum of Masters in environmental engineering or environmental science or related subject with knowledge in nuclear methods and techniques.
