Job Title: Montesorri Classroom Teacher
Responsibilities
- Responsible for daily interaction with students and parents and supervision of such from Classroom teachers.
- Ensure that adequate preparations for daily curriculum are done the day before the ensuing day to prevent any mishaps.
- Supervise the correct use of storage areas
- Ensure the usage of approved Montessori strategies to promote good behaviour and establish a purposeful learning environment tailored to aid the needs of each individual child’s
- A thorough recordkeeping system designed by the management, will be supplied and must be completed and submitted before the close of each day.
- Maintaining a good behaviour and establish a purposeful learning environment.
- Ensure that she and her team provide positive reenforcement without giving too much praise.
- Provide a positive attitude toward guidance, and should be able to conduct effective evaluation of her team.
- Treat each child as an individual, respecting and promoting diversity (Social, cultural, religious, linguistic and ethnic.)
- Punctuality and regular attendance is expected.
- Conduct outdoor and indoor checks early in the morning before the children arrive to ensure that both the environment and the classrooms are safe and hygienic.
- Ensure that team members of the classroom are ready and prepared to receive the children each morning by standing at the entrance and welcoming every single child and leading them to the classroom.
- Organize the children and form circle time to kick start the day by singing, counting, art activities and later allow the children to explore on whatever
the activity they want to do.
- Keep an eye on the children during circle time to monitor what the children do and coach them to present it.
- Have free flow with the children, ensure that you coach them while they choose an activity and present, only assist them when required otherwise let them be independent as much as possible
- Monitor children during snack and lunch time.
- Monitor children at the playground and ensure that they are safe.
- Plan schedules for children by doing extensive preparation for the next day, before you close from class, make sure the class is ready for the next
day’s activity.
Required Skills or Experience
- Good understanding of the Montessori philosophy and method, and be able to implement it in all spheres of childcare.
- Accurate and correct use of Montessori equipment is essential.
- Must have awareness and understanding of how holistic (physical, intellectual, linguistic, social, cultural and emotional) developments affect children.
- Participate in all school projects and take an active role in crossfunctional teams to assist in driving quality improvements, processes, and initiatives.
- Excellent Leadership skills
