Job Purpose: | Provide functional leadership in country for technical and occupational safety, health, environment and asset protection Enabling and Assuring safe and responsible operationsCoach & develop the in country team to progressively nationalize the staff and leadership of the team
Support business delivery by the Ghana business in all EHS&AP matters Develop and cultivate positive relationship with external agencies and regulators Design and deliver an effective Risk and Assurance management program appropriate to the Ghana business covering all Business risks Maintain Ghana BU’s ISO Certifications and IFC covenants |

Responsibilities / Key Objectives: | Lead for BU Wide Risk and Assurance FileEstablish a register of EHS&AP risks and design and support the Ghana business to assess and manage these
Ensure adequate EHS&AP support to operational activities and the business plan in terms of personnel, equipment and other resources as required Prepare and manage the in country EHS&AP budget and workplan Ensure that an effective relationship is established with the regulatory authorities and main contractors Support the EHS&AP Corporate requirements and ensure both lessons learned and best practices are shared Provide assurance through monitoring audit processes that EHS&AP requirements are being achieved Advertisement Develop and deliver and effective contractor management program Implement Corporate EHS&AP initiatives across operational sites Enable and assure compliance with EHS&AP policies and procedures Monthly compilation and reporting of EHS&AP information and statistics Ensure Tullow incident investigation and reporting requirements are met and quality assured Support local management in ensuring that actions arising from incidents and EHS&AP audits are identified, resolved and closed out Provide an appropriate level of EHS&AP Supervision to contracting companies in managing their operations and EHS&AP verification compliance of contractors Ensuring Emergency Response arrangements are in place and effective with adequate provision of personnel and facilities Conduct frequent visits to operational sites providing support and site cover when required |

Education: | 15+ years’ of Oil and Gas experience with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership roleDegree or equivalent in an engineering or earth science discipline
NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent |

Knowledge of operational and technical EHS&AP issues Well networked in the industry so that best practices may be sourced and applied as required Knowledge of identification & control measures of operational risks/hazards in operational sites Proven ability to lead personnel performance management incorporating development and nationalization Demonstrated knowledge and experience on the development and roll-out of EHS&AP management systems in accordance with recognized international standards Able to manage EHS&AP activities in multiple locations with minimal supervision Adaptable in fast changing environments and able to deliver results through a pragmatic and positive approach Motivates and influences others in the delivery of good EHS&AP performance Thorough knowledge of EHS&AP regulatory standards and compliance, and technical EHS&AP |
