Copal Ghana Recruits Secretary

The Secretariat of the Alliance of Cocoa Producing Countries (COPAL) announces the vacancy of the post of Secretary General of the Alliance following the expiration of the term of the current Secretary General on 31st December 2010. In line with the decision of the meeting of the Council of Ministers held on 24th September, 2010 in Kuala, Lumur, Malaysia (Decision 007/CM/10) the new Secretary General is to assume duty on 1st October, 2011.

Required Skills or Experience

The Criteria for the selection of the Secretary General are stated as follows:

Candidate must be a national of member country of the Alliance and must be endorsed by the Government of his/her country
Candidate must be over 35 years of age
Candidate must have a minimum of Masters degree from a recognise university or college preferably in Economics, Agronomy, Administration or Commerce
Candidate must have held a responsible position with at least ten year managerial or administrative experience in an international organisation, Government Establishment or Commercial organisation of International Commodity Agreements and Commodity markets
The knowledge of English and French, the working languages of Alliance, is essential. If the candidate speaks only one of the languages, he or she must be prepared to learn the second language. The knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese would be an added advantage.
