Job Description

Job Title: Communications/Social Media Intern

CUTS Accra, Internship Positions – Communication/Social Media Intern ( preferably female applicants)
CUTS is a non-profit research and advocacy policy think tank based in Accra with mandates to the ECOWAS region (www.cuts international.org/arc/ accra). CUTS works in the areas of international trade and development, consumer protection and consumer safety, governance, competition,
investment and economic Regulation. CUTS has distinguished itself over the years as an organization that is enable to engage the grassroots, policy makers and non-state actors. CUTS requires two interns (one male and one female) to assist in the areas of research and programmatic activities. Internship position is nonpaid.
However, interns shall be provided with monthly stipend.
Key Responsibilities of the Communications/Social Media would include but not limiting to:
Basic research
Manages the organization’s social media channels, including Facebook, youtube, Twitter, and other relevant platforms Engages in social media presence creation on new and emerging social media platforms
Creates dynamic written, graphic, and video content
Creates content that promotes audience interaction, increases audience presence on the organization sites, and encourages audience participation
Assists social media management with large projects, events, and community management
Engages in literature review, writing of reports and among others.

Required Skills or Experience

The candidate should be Bachelors in Journalism, Communications, Economics/Development/ from an institute of good repute

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel)
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary service
Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard
accepted practices

Cover letter of 400 words expressing the interest of application iv. An essay of 800 -1000 words on “The Role of Government Policies in Addressing Inequalities”.
