Job Description

Seeks to recruit a Programme Co-ordinator to implement the project. The substantive officer will be based in Yendi.

Provide strategic direction in the context of Songtaba-ActionAid Ghana and Big Lottery Fund Partnership Agreement
Support the management, planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of the SVAGS project
Identify and harmonize the different capacities individual organisations bring into the dynamics of the operations of the coalition for effective implementation of the SVAGS project
Report to the Board of Directors
Contribute to the development of innovative campaign strategies based on your grassroots experiences towards the realization of women’s rights in the region
Provide leadership on strategic women’s rights issues during processes involving the Songtaba council, the Board and the district gender forums
Any other responsibilities assigned by the Board of Directors
Duration of Contract: 2 years Salary: Negotiable

Required Skills or Experience

A good first degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies or Rural/Community Development
A minimum of three (3) years post qualification working experience in the development sector
Knowledge in research methods and data analysis is essential
Experience in community work with gender focus is an advantage
Excellent command of written and spoken English, good interpersonal skills and team player, computer literacy, fluent in at least one of the local dialects in the Northern region preferably Dagbani/Konkomba
Ability to develop media and advocacy materials; and willingness to travel frequently to work in remote communities of the Northern Region is highly desirable
