World Vision is looking for highly qualified and motivated persons for the position of Local Institutional Strengthening Coordinator at the Head Office.
Job Summary:
To provide technical support and advice to ADPs and the National Office on strengthening the capacity of Local Institutions in World Vision Ghana’s operation areas, within the framework of the Integrated Programming Model (IPM)
- Participate in the formulation of strategies for engaging, empowering and developing capacity of Local Institutions in WV’s operation areas
- Lead the development/adaptation, dissemination and review of relevant tools, guidelines and models for actively engaging and strengthening capacity of Local Institutions
- Provide training for field staff in basic skills, concepts and approaches to Local Institutional engagement and capacity strengthening for management of local initiatives
- Support in the development of new programs and ensuring that Local Institutions are involved and included in the program designs
- Provide technical backstopping and guidance to Base and ADP staff on a wide range of partnering issues, including: mapping and assessment of partners, networking, sub granting, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, etc
- Undertake documentation, dissemination and sharing of the best practices and lessons learnt in Local Institutional engagement and capacity strengthening across the National Office
- Provide guidance to field staff on the application, utilization and compliance to set standards and guidelines to guide the processes of partner capacity enhancement
- Support DM&E Coordinators to conduct monitoring and evaluation to ascertain the outputs, outcome and impact of the Local Institutions capacity strengthening initiatives undertaken
Required Skills or Experience
- Degree in organizational development, social sciences or other development areas. Masters degree or relevant professional qualification preferred
- At least five years working experience in institutional strengthening and community development
- Experience in project design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and report writing
- Must be a fast-learner, willing to learn and be able to train others
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively and stay in remote locations
- Good computer and statistical skills
