ACDI/VOCA is currently seeking a Farm Management Specialist for an upcoming volunteer assignment in Ghana. Kharma Farm is requesting volunteer assistance to improve their farm management skills. The volunteer will provide training on a number of areas, including farming as a business, farm machinery, financial resources management and record keeping, and human resources management, among others. The assignment will last for approximately three weeks in country, in addition to preparation and research previous to departure. Travel and living are covered.
Job Description
Job Title: Farm Management Specialist, Ghana
As part of the Farmer-to-Farmer Consortium, this assignment is made possible through USAID funding. In accordance to USAID guidelines, any candidates submitted for consideration under this project must have a valid US passport or Green Card.
Qualifications
Volunteer Qualifications:
University degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agribusiness, or other related areas
At least 10 years of experience in farm management
Proficient computer skills including MS Word and Excel
The volunteer should be prepared to live in a rural setting with limited or no access to amenities such as air conditioning or internet.
Previous experience in rural African settings is an advantage but not required
